Pilled!!!

This is something new that i'm working on. The idea behind it is pretty obvious. It came to me while doodling in the callcentre i work part time in (doodling is a godsend in that place)....i'm really enjoying working on it even though i'm already spending sooo much time in front of the computer these days....

This is a pretty old picture at this point....i did it BEFORE reading Northern Lights people.

Grace Jones Clubland

Here is a self portrait that i thought was pretty cool and then my friend pointed out that its got a very Grace Jones Club Kids kind of vibe to it......now i'm not so sure.

Luke The Lifeboat

Here is a selection of some of the work I did as Asset Creator for the children's TV series Luke The Lifeboat. The cartoon has a really sweet and cute style and a left of centre kind of humour. I'm really looking forward to seeing it on television.

The majority of my work consisted of taking a rough sketch from one of the artists working on the show and redrawing it in Illustrator and adding colour, lighting, shading and texture to it. However, sometimes if there wasn't time for something to be drawn up or a character was needed from a different view point, I would step in and do it myself. Most of the time I succeeded too :)

Here you can see the original drawing on the left and the final render on the right.

I'm really proud of this last one. The original sketch was kind of rough and it was the first background I had ever done. I had a small pool of resources to work from but most of the big rocks were created from scratch plus I had to knock it out as fast as I could. I think it think it turned out well though.

This was one of those quick things that have no real thought or idea behind them.....since i drew it i've been imagining that perhaps it might suit some scenario in the future where our hands will only be used as vehicles for small cute monsters. As with many humans, these monsters often suffer anxiety when learning how to drive their first hand.

Here's another one on the same line.
