Nicholas Jaar - Shakedown

Wolf + Lamb have just given away 6 Nicholas Jaar edits for free. Check it out here. This wunderkind has everyone talking at the moment, he's like 19 or something, was signed with Wolf + Lamb at 17. I saw him at Kleine Reise recently where the crowd was more then rapturous. Very interesting what he's doing with some of his edits. Nothing he's released has absolutely blown me away but he's definitely someone to look out for. Included in the edits is a very famliar New Order track that you probably thought could never sound fresh again. You might be wrong.

Bangkok Impact - Junge Dame Mit Freundliche Tel

This song is eight years old. EIGHT YEARS! It seems like only yesterday when i was jumping up and down to finnish producer, Sami Liuski's campy disco electro tunes. He was only 23 at the time when these came out so i find it hard to believe he's not still producing. He released some music under the names 8 Bit Rockers and Lolita Strap but even the most recent releases under these names are still years old now. Where are you Sami?

Bodycode - I'll Hold Your Hand (Gadi Mizrahi Remix)

You know the way I'm a bit obsessed with Bodycode and recently the label Wolf + Lamb? Well It looks like the electronic gods were looking down on me and decided to send a gift my way. I just found a remix of Bodycode's sublime I'll Hold Your Hand by Wolf + Lamb's Gadi Mizrahi....AND its available to download for free here. Thank you techno overlords.

Matthew Dear - Black City

Matthew Dear has just released his new album Black City on Ghostly International. Its a follow up to 2008's Asa Breed which I absolutely loved. So far Black City isn't tickling me the same way Asa Breed did with its extreme pop hooks fused with driving beats. On first listen Black City seems a wee bit more withdrawn and focused on Dear's more ballady melancholic work. Its still good though. Check it out.

Alice Smith - Love Endeavour (Maurice Fulton remix)

This is another track from that Resident Advisor Dixon podcast that I drunkenly ranted about a while back. Great track! And fits in so well with in the mix....once again, DOWNLOAD IT!

Benoit & Sergio

My friend John introduced me to these guys (or guy....who knows?) This track, to my mind, is basically Paul Simon if he produced romantic techno. Romantic techno is what everyone seems to be calling it. There ain't much info on Benoit & Sergio other then that they're on Bruno Pronsatos label thesongsays and the EP this is from, What I've Lost, is the second release on the label. I've got a suspicion that Benoit & Sergio are in fact Bruno Pronsato...but I could be wrong. Bruno was quoted as saying that he just wanted to make "romantic techno"...i guess its a pretty suitable moniker. Have a listen and decide for yourself.

Benoit & Sergio - Full Grown Man

Kingdom - Fogs

Holy shit! A straight up dubstep track that I actually really like. What's happening?

Love Vibert

Was pokin round for some Vibert goodness when I found a Kerrier District remix of Black Devil Disco Club (ya know that song that is played on lots of Vibert mixes that seemingly was written in 1978 by some italo disco dude but some people claim its Aphex Twin blah blah blah...you can actually get the real info here). Well it doesn't stray too far from the original but adds a pleasant dancefloor punch, a keyboard refrain and some signature Vibert acid to the mix. Its nayce.

Black Devil - Disco Club (Kerrier District)

While we're on the remix buzz here's a Luke Vibert edit of electronic funk soul tornado/future husband Jamie Lidell's A Little Bit More.

Jamie Lidell - A Little Bit More (Luke Vibert Remix)

and here is a sweet live performance of above.

I've seen Vibert a bunch of times now, sometimes he can be a bit repetitive but he's ALWAYS fun. And he usually runs the gamut of his entire career, Vibert stuff, Plug stuff, Ace of Clubs stuff and usually a tonne of acid stuff thrown in. He knows how to entertain. The first time I saw him I ran up to him in a sweaty bleary mess and geeked out all over him. I just blurted out that I was a big fan. He was very friendly and seemed appreciative. I was elated...more so.

Here's my favourite Ace of Clubs track:

And to end here's the gorgeous A Subtle Blend.

walk very similar to an egyptian

Remember that Cleo + Patra song "Walk like an Egyptian" I was raving about the other day? Well my mate over at wittybanter.de has gotten a fit of bare faced cheek and remade the song using the originals, Justus Kohncke's Timecode and Rockers Revenge Walking on sunshine. He done good too. Check it out.

Cleo & Patra - walk like an egyptian

Just found these dudes. Seem to be only available on vinyl and this is the longest clip I can find of the song. Its freakin awesome. Combines Justus Kohncke's Timecode with Rockers Revenge Walking on Sunshine. SO SWEET! If anyone buys it invite me over so we can dance around to it.

6th Borough Project - Do It To The Max

Another from that KR podcast by Delfonic. Saw one of the dudes from 6th Borough Project about 2 months ago in Kleine Reise. He was great. Super set.

Patsy Gallant - It'll All Come Around

Last song on one of Kleine Reise's wonderful podcasts (its number 2 by Delfonic).

Isolee - Face B

So are Isolee finished now or what? I want more. We Are Monster was such a classic blend of sleazy disco chunk electronics but that was like 5 years ago or something.

It

If I'm not mistaken this image contains a ninja, samurai, a nazi, Sabretooth AND Wolverine. I'm impressed....wait, and some mad tentacle things too.

Been sick the last few days. Super sick.
