Horror Inc AKA Akufen. You can hear the telltale vocal fuckery. This is some sinister shit. How the next Resident Evil game should be scored. Survival horror in Berghain.
Now that it's 2011 and we're officially in "The Future" I think it's safe to call Akufen's 2002 album My Way a classic. It's still a great listen and his cut and paste vocal stylings are still as distinct and fresh as ever. The album as a whole makes me a bit teary and nostalgic but this soft violin speckled tune, the album's first track, makes me blubbery more then anything else that follows.
Boy take me to the party, we'll dance all night long. Won't you finish what you started, two hearts can't be wrong. You like to think you're better, treat me so unkind, i'll give you love forever, i'm obliged.
Psalm from 2007 album Passing Images by Norwegian accordionist Frode Haltli. I heard this on the radio and remembered that the second half was recently sampled by someone but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. From around 3.40 onwards. Its a beautiful song in its own right but if someone knows please drop me a line.
It's funny, depending on what state of mind you're in this song might either make you feel a bit sick or get you all excited. The undulating trippy synth might be a bit much for some but you have to stick around to listen to the cacophony that it builds into. Class.
Just listening to Panorama resident Dinky's Anemik properly for the first time today. It's excellent. Plays like a proper long player and not just an endless techno mix. There's several highlights but not many of them are available to stream online. This track is one of them though.
